Brian Pulling

Brian Pulling is PainChat’s science editor, who is currently hard at work completing a master’s degree by research in health sciences at the University of South Australia. His research looks at ways of enhancing treatments for low back pain to make them more effective.

Although currently based in Adelaide, Brian is a native New Yorker, having graduated from Ithaca College with a Bachelor of Science in clinical health studies, he plans to pursue a PhD.

Brian is a regular contributor to Cosmos Magazine, and among other things, he enjoys cycling, playing music, and swing dancing. As a researcher, Brian is fascinated by things like the adaptive qualities of perception, and how perception is impacted by things like expectations and predictions.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: THIS IS A WEBSITE

We do claim that this website has some useful information for you to learn about pain, why it persists and the things that you can do and know that can help it change over time. But it’s still only a website, even if it’s a good one. So we have to make sure you know that text, graphics, images and other material here is for informational purposes only. Like it is on WebMD. Only we hope that we don’t make you more worried about your pain. The information on this website is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, opinion, diagnosis or treatment. We are very careful to make sure we write high quality information, but even the best online information can’t ask you specific questions about your condition. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health care provider about your medical conditions (or print out the page you’re interested in and ask them to explain it). We hope you can access better care than Dr Google and you don’t have to rely on us.
